Match Recap

With the support of their fans in Santa Catarina, Avaí sought to propose offensive actions from the initial minutes to surpass São Bernardo's solid posture. The confrontation developed in a balanced way at Estádio da Ressacada, with the home team managing to break through the opponent's lines to build the advantage on the scoreboard. The visiting team still managed to score and reduce the difference, but the blue team knew how to manage possession at the crucial moment and sustained the 2-1 victory until the final whistle.

Match Highlights

The positive result had significant weight for the atmosphere of Leão da Ilha, which was under pressure due to an unstable moment in the championship. The Catarinense squad had in its recent record two victories, one draw, and two defeats in the last five commitments played, coming from consecutive defeats against Náutico and Botafogo-SP. The response on the field in front of their fans served to recover collective confidence and break the victory drought in the competition.

What the Numbers Say

On the other hand, São Bernardo was unable to maintain the same momentum it showed in the previous rounds. The paulista team had a recent campaign of two victories, one draw, and two defeats in the previous five games, driven by consecutive victories over Cuiabá and Vila Nova FC. The defeat in the Catarinense capital halted this ascent and prevented the visitors from adding precious points in this penultimate round of the access tournament.

What Changes Now

Both teams return to the field on Saturday, November 14, 2026, to dispute the 38th and final round of Série B. Avaí will conclude its participation in the competition playing away from home against América Mineiro, in Belo Horizonte. Meanwhile, São Bernardo says goodbye to the season in front of its fans, hosting Athletic Club at Estádio Primeiro de Maio, on the same day.
